Abstract
Settlement geography focuses its topics on fair distribution, and the lack of dominance of one Settlement gathering over another, due to the consequent backwardness of some villages, of the negatives that are reflected in the dominant villages and the villages that are dominated, therefore the subject of the study came to reveal the reasons and manifestations of the dominance of the village of Abu Zaabal over its geographical hinterland, and an attempt to reduce that dominance by reviewing these manifestations in various fields, starting with studying the situation, locations, and sizes of the villages, and applying indicators of dominance. To reveal the extent of the imbalance in the size hierarchy of the villages, in addition to studying land uses to determine the dominant uses of the village’s area, and presenting the services to know the buffer of the service and revealing the region of its influence, in addition to knowing the buffer of the market influence of these activities.
The study relied on some approaches, such as the historical, objective, and analytical approach, and some methods, including statistical, cartographic, and geographic information systems. The study showed that the village of Abu Zaabal acquired many basic services, important industrial activities, and some other industries Concentrated to the Shorouk and Akrasha regions.
